Roy Hodgson 300[LNB]A HOST of former Anfield stars have leapt to the defence of underfire Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson.[LNB]The 63-year-old is under pressure after a nightmare start to his reign with the Reds picking up just six points from their opening seven Premier League games.[LNB]A 2-1 home defeat at the hands of newly-promoted Blackpool means Liverpool have suffered their worst beginning to a season for 57 years and they are in the bottom three for the first time since 1984.[LNB]Hodgson had to contend with boos and there were calls for Kenny Dalglish to replace him towards the end of Sunday's game.[LNB] But ex-Reds keeper Ray Clemence insists talk of changing the manager is 'crazy' after just three months at the helm.[LNB]Clemence has urged supporters to get behind Hodgson and give him time to prove he's the right man for the job.[LNB]'No-one expected them to be where they are in the table, although everybody expected a transitional year,' he said.[LNB]'It's crazy to talk about getting rid of him - they've got an excellent manager who will get things right given time and patience.[LNB]'But his hands are tied and the thing is nothing can be sorted lower down until the top end of the club is sorted out.
