Tom Hicks 460[LNB]OUSTED Liverpool owner Tom Hicks appeared pale and close to tears when he went on TV to explain his side of the boardroom battle which saw him kicked out of his own club.[LNB]The Texan businessman said he was 'shocked, devastated, frustrated,' at the end of eleven days of financial and legal warfare that saw him and business partner George Gillett lose £140m on his Liverpool venture.[LNB]Hicks, 64, blamed Liverpool creditors RBS, his chairman Martin Broughton and his own employees for an 'organised conspiracy' to stop him regaining control of the club.[LNB]He said: 'We did have the funds available to pay off RBS in its entirety.[LNB] 'Between RBS, the chairman, and employees that conspired against us we were not allowed to pay off our debt.[LNB]'This was an organised conspiracy that went on for many months.[LNB]'We were paying them very high compensation and they conspired against us.[LNB]'They were people I thought were friends. I thought were loyal. I was wrong.'[LNB]He said he knew who potential buyers were and seemed to indicate he wanted some kind of Manchester City-style billionaire to swoop in and solve Liverpool's financial problems.[LNB]But he said the mystery buyers were 'scared off' by financial 'distress calls' from RBS and 'internet terrorism' from fans.[LNB]Hicks went on to deliver an extraordinary personal attack on Broughton, adding: 'Martin Broughton wanted a good PR event.[LNB]'He's a Chelsea fan not a Liverpool fan.[LNB]'He wanted to be the guy who got rid of the Americans.[LNB]'So he's sold it to another group of Americans.'
