FC Lyn 0 Liverpool 2: Forgotten man Voronin stakes a claim as Reds win

06 August 2009 01:07
Andriy Voronin and David Ngog netted as Liverpool won their latest pre-season encounter against FC Lyn in Oslo. A largely youthful Reds line-up were often on the back foot during the first half as Lyn, at the foot of the Norwegian Tippeliga, tested Diego Cavalieri on a number of occasions, while Jo Berget hit a post. However, Voronin headed in Ryan Babel's cross on the stroke of half-time and Ngog steered home a cut-back from Andrea Dossena just before the hour mark. The only worry for Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez was an injury to winger Albert Riera.
