Enrique earns Clarke praise
Jose Enrique has been tipped to earn a place in the Spain squad if he keeps working hard on his game with Liverpool.[LNB] Enrique made no secret of the fact that his decision to move to Anfield from Newcastle over the summer was influenced by a desire to play for his country.[LNB]And the left-back has made such a strong start to life with his new club that Liverpool first-team coach Steve Clarke feels international recognition cannot be too far away.[LNB]Clarke believes there is more to come from Enrique but has been hugely impressed by the attitude of the 25-year-old, as well as what he offers the team on the pitch.[LNB]"As an ex-full-back myself, I can appreciate the work he's doing for the team - both in attack and defence," Clarke told the club's official website.[LNB]"I'm sure he'd be the first to admit he's got lots of things he can work on to improve, but from what we've seen so far from him he should be pleased with himself and the contribution he's made. We certainly are."[LNB]Enrique, who has claimed assists in each of his last two games, revealed last week how he studied videos of the world's top-left-backs in order to enhance his own game.[LNB]Clarke said: "It's typical of his character. Since he came here, we've been impressed by the way he's gone about his business day-to-day in training, and I think that is when you get to know your players best - by working with them every day.[LNB]"He wants to improve. I know he is desperate to be part of the Spanish squad in future and if he continues the work he's doing, manages to improve and then I am sure he will make the squad, no problem."
