El Zhar plotting Anfield exit

abil El Zhar has revealed he is planning to leave Liverpool this summer because of his lack of first-team opportunities at Anfield.

The 23-year-old is frustrated with his role on Merseyside and is ready to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere.

The Moroccan international has made only 32 appearances for Liverpool since arriving from St Etienne in 2006 and he claims there are a number of clubs chasing his signature.

"I want to leave Liverpool," El Zhar told the Moroccan media. "I do not play often enough.

"I'm 23 and I cannot afford to only play a few bits of games.

"There are several European clubs interested and I will not close any doors."
