THE Kop's 'dead man' is still walking for now, but if form is anything to go by, he is headed only for the gallows.[LNB]Not for the first time this season, the hot topic in football circles is Roy Hodgson's future.[LNB]Another embarrassing defeat, this time at the hands of a depleted Blackburn Rovers side, has left the Liverpool manager fighting to keep his head above water.[LNB] The travelling support at Ewood Park voiced their frustrations in acerbic fashion on Wednesday evening, joining in the home fans' chants of 'You're getting sacked in the morning', as the Reds slid to their ninth league defeat of a humiliating campaign with familiar ease.[LNB]Hodgson hasn't yet been sacked, but the general consensus among supporters and commentators is that it is merely a matter of time before the 63-year-old is removed from his post at Anfield.[LNB]Liverpool's worst league start for 57 years demands criticism - and plenty of it is being aimed at the manager.[LNB]Against that backdrop - one of online fans' petitions, of graffiti outside Melwood and, above all, terrible, terrible football and terrible, terrible results - a trip to Old Trafford is probably the last thing Hodgson needs, but such is his lot at the moment.[LNB]And though history provides little solace in such desperate times, it is worth remembering that high-pressure, high-stakes trips to Manchester United can help make or break Liverpool managers.
