Real Madrid goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has welcomed the capture of Alvaro Arbeloa and hopes another of his former Liverpool team-mates, Xabi Alonso, follows suit. Arbeloa passed his medical with Madrid on Wednesday and will pen a five-year contact with the Spanish giants to complete his £3.5million move from Liverpool. The 26-year-old Spain international becomes Madrid's seventh signing of the summer and Dudek is delighted with the move, saying of Arbeloa: "He's an all-round player. He's making great progress and I think that with his quality he can help this team in defence. "He's a very good friend of mind and the fact he's an international guarantees his worth." Madrid's summer recruitment might not be over yet either, with Arbeloa's fellow Spain international and former Anfield team-mate Alonso still believed to be high on the Primera Division outfit's wish list. "He has a lot of quality and is also a great person off the pitch. I hope that he comes, although it is not easy to negotiate with (Liverpool manager) Rafa Benitez," Dudek added.
