Andrea Dossena's agent has admitted that a move to Juventus is not certain to go ahead.
The Italian giants have been linked with the Liverpool defender since the end of the 2008/9 season.
The former Udinese man, who endured a mixed first season at Anfield, had high hopes of returning to Serie A this summer.
But Dossena's representative Roberto La Florio has now revealed that things are not developing as quickly as they would have liked.
"We can only wait," La Florio told Corriere dello Sport.
"For the time being, I have not met (Juventus sporting director) Alessio Secco and I don't have an appointment set up with him in the near future.
"At this time I don't know if Dossena will join Juventus."
Juve are also considering Fabio Grosso of Lyon as another option at left-back but La Florio is not sure that a deal is close to being sorted out.
He explained: "I know there are some problems with Grosso's negotiations.
"We can only wait, we are not in a hurry.
"In any case the lad (Dossena) is also happy at Liverpool."
