Diego Cavalieri leaves Liverpool for Serie A side Cesena

Liverpool goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri has completed his move to Serie A newcomers Cesena.[LNB]The Brazilian was signed by former Reds manager Rafael Benitez from Palmeiras in July 2008.[LNB]However, he was only ever considered back-up to first-choice Jose Reinaand as a result made just 10 appearances for the first team.[LNB] Posted out: Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri played just 10 times in two years at Liverpool[LNB]The arrival last week of Middlesbrough's Brad Jones, who qualifies as a 'home-grown' player despite being an Australia international, signalled the end of Cavalieri's Anfield career.[LNB]Liverpool have confirmed Jones will now take over the number one shirt vacated by the Brazilian.[LNB]Saint or sinner: Guilherme do Prado fired AC Cesena into Serie A last season[LNB]Meanwhile the Serie A side have allowed Brazilian midfielder Guilherme do Prado to join League One Southampton on loan until January.[LNB]Saints boss Alan Pardew has an option to make the deal permanent if the 28-year-old - known as 'Guly' - impresses during his stay at the club.[LNB]Do Prado scored nine goals last season, as Cesena won promotion to Serie A.[LNB]Pardew said: 'We'd like to think that he'll add to our attacking prowess. We're not flowing with goals like we were last year.'[LNB]He added: 'He's a player who excelled in Serie B - he's a central midfielder who is comfortable in possession.[LNB]'We're taking something of a risk taking him from Serie A to League One, but we're confident that he'll be able to make the switch.'[LNB]Saints are hoping to have international clearance in time for do Prado to play in the Carling Cup second round tie against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday.
