Demba Ba Off To Liverpool

Liverpool are considering Newcastle striker Demba Ba – as Rodgers requires more firepower for the second half of the season.

The Reds are already short of strikers this season – with only two recognised strikers at the club, Fabio Borini and Luis Suarez.

Metro has said Ba will cost Liverpool £7million, due to the buy-out clause in his contract. However, with Demba Ba already on around £50,000 a week – he is rumoured to want a staggering 100% increase in his salary.

Rodgers knows Ba, 27, would fit easily into his sides style of play and arrive with a proven goalscoring records in The Barclays Premier League.

Moving to Liverpool would ensure that Ba will get to play down the centre of the attack, unlike at Newcastle where he has recently been moved to the left wing to compensate for Senegalese team mate Papiss Cisse.

Ba has had a few reported bust-ups with Newcastle boss Alan Padrew – and the Senegalese forward has had enough of life at Newcastle – although topping The Barclays Premier League goal scoring chart.
