Dalglish hopes for caution with Carroll

Kenny Dalglish hopes England do not take any risks with Andy Carroll. The Liverpool striker is likely to be named in the England squad for their upcoming European Championship qualifier with Wales but Dalglish has urged Fabio Capello to show caution with regard to Carroll's fitness. "There's nothing we can do and we can't prevent them picking Andy but common sense should prevail," said the boss. "I don't know if he wants to pick him or not but there's no point in us being as guarded as we have been and doing such a great job to get him to where he is now if someone else is going to waste that. "I can fully understand someone wanting to pick the best players for England but they've also got to take into consideration the fact he's not really there yet for fitness. "But if he picks him he picks him. It's not a case of going to war with anyone. England have to be responsible if they want to pick him."
