Crouch not fazed by rumours
13 Mar 2007 - 16:13:16
Liverpool striker Peter Crouch insists he does not fear for his future despite being continually linked with an Anfield exit.
The England striker has fallen down the pecking order in recent weeks with manager Rafael Benitez appearing to prefer a Dirk Kuyt and Craig Bellamy partnership for high-profile games.
Crouch remains the club's top scorer this season but, with Ukraine striker Andriy Voronin set to arrive on a free transfer and Benitez expected to have plenty of money to spend in the transfer window courtesy of the recent takeover by US investors, his future remains the subject of much speculation.
However, the 13-goal marksman claims he is not concerned with the talk suggesting he will be sold in the summer.
"There's a lot of speculation about what might happen in the summer, but you just have to accept it as part of being at a big club like Liverpool," he said.
"It will be tougher to get in the team and nobody's place will be certain.
"It means you will have to work as hard as possible to keep your place.
"That does not bother me. The fact that the manager will be looking to strengthen the squad can only be good news."
