Crouch and Keane plan to prove Rafa was wrong to let them leave Liverpool

Peter Crouch and Robbie Keane are determined to show their old boss Rafa Benitez what he he missing when Tottenham entertain Liverpool in their opening day Barclays Premier League fixture at White Hart Lane this Sunday. Benitez sold both strikers to Spurs counterpart Harry Redknapp with Crouch heading to Portsmouth last summer and Keane dramatically sold back after an agonising six-month spell at Anfield as the England international's £20million replacement. As Spurs prepare for the visit of Liverpool, Crouch can look forward to partnering England's two-goal hero Jermain Defoe in attack with Keane hoping to slot in behind the front two. Crouch became frustrated by Benitez's rotation policy and said: 'When I was at Liverpool, I'd be doing well and score a couple - or even a hat-trick one time - and then not play the next week. 'Everyone knows the manager there likes to change the team regardless of form and that's just one of those things I had to accept. I moved on from there because of that. 'Obviously I'd love to win on Sunday against Liverpool and score but more so for Tottenham than myself. 'I still have a great deal of affection for the club and I hope they go on to win the league if they can. 'Barring Sunday I hope they go on and have a great season.' Keane lasted just half a season under Benitez amid speculation that the Spaniard did not really want the Republic of Ireland captain. Crouch is confident Redknapp's new-look Spurs can force their way into the top four. He said: 'I've come to a top club and that we can achieve anything here. Manchester City will have a good go but I believe that if anyone can do it we can.'
