Philippe Coutinho may be the subject of daily transfer rumours, mostly to Barcelona, but the Brazilian playmaker insists he is committed to Liverpool Football Club.
“You define the success of a player by his loyalty or his titles, or both," he said as he picked up his Player of the Year award at the club's annual ceremony last night. "In order to be part of this group, I have so much to do.
“I want to win titles. Five years is my new contract. It gives me that opportunity.”
The comments will be good news for manager Jurgen Klopp, with Coutinho's presence being crucial to Liverpool's campaign this season. If they are to go on to better things next season, both domestically and in Europe, they will need their number 10 in top form.
