Hiddink also admitted that Chelsea would have to improve dramatically on the 4-4 draw (they won 7-5 on aggregate) if they are to overcome Barcelona in the forthcoming semi-final, the third consecutive time they have reached the last four of this competition.
Hiddink's fear that Chelsea could face a "difficult night" in Barcelona in two weeks will have been heightened by a yellow card to Ashley Cole which rules him out of the first leg.
"We were not right from the first whistle so we had to get angry," Hiddink said. "We gave them too much respect. Once we went 1-0 and 2-0 down, I was worried. We wanted to kill the game in the first half-an-hour.

Liverpool were deprived of Steven Gerrard, who was set to play but suffered a reaction to his adductor injury, although manager Rafael Benitez said he should be fit for next week's Premier League encounter with Arsenal.
Benitez was furious with referee Luis Medina Cantalejo. He said: "We had 29 fouls against us, too. I prefer not to talk too much about the referee. But 29 fouls against us. We are not happy."
