Spanish flyer: Fernando Torres celebrates scoring the winner against West Ham[LNB]Fernando Torres blasted back to his best with a spectacular solo goal and a powerful headed winner in Liverpool's thrilling 3-2 victory at West Ham last night.[LNB]He came to the rescue for Rafael Benitez's side after their lead was twice cancelled out and his stunning performance left the Anfield manager predicting even greater things for his Spain striker.[LNB]Benitez paid £26.5million for Torres and with 55 goals in 91 matches, the Liverpool boss reckons he is cheap at the price.[LNB]'If he continues playing like that I am sure he will be one of the best,' said Benitez. [LNB]'With the money that some clubs pay for any player, he is cheap. But it is not just the price and what he can do on the pitch. [LNB]'He is also very professional and a nice lad. Everybody knows he has good movement and pace.'[LNB] Danger No 9: Fernando Torres scores his first, firing inside West Ham keeper Robert Green's near post[LNB]Torres signed from Atletico Madrid three seasons ago and was the Premier League's top scorer in his first campaign but there were doubts about his fitness as Liverpool's early form faltered this season.[LNB]Those doubts were emphatically dispelled at Upton Park. Torres scored his first goal in the 20th minute when he danced his way into the penalty area and smashed a shot over goalkeeper Rob Green.[LNB]West Ham equalised when Alessandro Diamanti scored from the penalty spot and, even though Dirk Kuyt gave Liverpool the lead again before the break, they went in at 2-2 after Carlton Cole headed a second equaliser.[LNB]Torres's winner came 15 minutes from time to take his tally for the season to five goals to third place.[LNB] Two good: Torres seals the points by heading Liverpool's winner 16 minutes from time[LNB]And skipper Steven Gerrard dismissed suggestions that the man dubbed El Nino is not at the top of his game.[LNB]'He seems OK to me,' said Gerrard. 'He's scoring goals and he was on fire today.[LNB]'We should have been 2-0 up at half-time. We controlled the game but let them back in with a couple of mistakes.[LNB]'It's important we pick up our wins because the teams above us will drop points.' West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola, presented with a cake to mark his year in charge, had no complaints about the result.[LNB]He said: 'I couldn't have asked for any more but when you play a good team it is difficult. In the second half we got tired and they took advantage. We will stay positive.'[LNB] LIVERPOOL FC
