Carroll's new number
Andy Carroll has been handed a new squad number for the Reds' Europa League games. Liverpool's number 9 has to wear the number 29 shirt when he plays in the Europa League, because the Reds have already had Judas Torres playing in that number in the competition this season. This doesn't affect any other competition and Carroll will continue to wear the number 9 in the Premiership.
