Carragher's Rafa delight

Liverpool star Jamie Carragher admits he is both delighted and relieved Rafa Benitez has signed a new deal at the club.[LNB] Benitez ended speculation over his future by finally penning a new five-year deal earlier this week to keep him at Anfield until 2014.[LNB]The news ended months of uncertainty over the Spaniard's long-term future after protracted talks over the contract.[LNB]Carragher is happy the issue has been resolved and is now hoping Liverpool can continue to challenge for honours under Benitez.[LNB]"We all have our own issues, at different times, with contracts so we understand what the manager's been through, but hopefully it is sorted now and we can move on for the rest of the season and for future years," Carragher told Sky Sports News.[LNB]Asked if uncertainty over Benitez's future was distracting for the players, Carragher said: "No not really we all have our own issues at times even now there are different players probably not sure what they are going to do this season or next season so that's just part of football. [LNB]"But I think it is always better when everything is sorted out and people know exactly what is happening."[LNB]ImprovedCarragher is looking forward to working under Benitez for a further five years feeling the Spaniard has helped improve him as a player.[LNB]""Yeah I am delighted my game has improved a lot since the manager come over the last four or five years and hopefully it will improve again, even though I am getting bit older, over the next four or five years," added Carragher.[LNB]"We have won a couple of big trophies but we want to push on in terms of the Premiership over these next four or five years and hopefully before I have finished win that one and other trophies as well."[LNB]
