Carragher fires title warning
02 Sep 2009 - 08:56:14
Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has warned the rest of the Premier League title hopefuls not to write off the Reds just yet.
The title credentials of the Anfield side have been questioned after they lost two of their three opening leagues fixtures.
But buoyed by Saturday's fightback to overcome Bolton Wanderers 3-2 at the Reebok Stadium, Carragher believes the Reds are still capable of beating the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea to the title.
"We have taken a bit of criticism and rightly so, because we haven't made the best of starts," he told The Sun.
"But no-one can ever write us off. Ourselves and Manchester United, not just in this league but probably anywhere in the world, are the best at coming back from deficits and winning games.
"At Bolton, the lads showed what great character we have.
"It was so important to get those three points, especially with the international break coming up."
