Veteran Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has welcomed news of the proposed takeover of the club.[LNB] New England Sports Ventures (NESV), the parent company of the Boston Red Sox baseball team, have had a £300million bid accepted by the Anfield board.[LNB]Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton believes it will take a week for the deal to go through with current owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett challenging the sale via the courts, while the Premier League have indicated they could grant their approval as early as Friday.[LNB]Defender Carragher believes the takeover would be a good move for the club and hopes it will happen as soon as possible so the focus can return to the pitch, where Roy Hodgson's side are in the relegation zone.[LNB]He told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Everyone knows it'll be a good thing for the club.[LNB]"Hopefully it will be sorted sooner rather than later and we can start looking forward on the pitch and start improving results, which is what we need to do."
