Can 'Super Mario' make Liverpool level up?

Ever since the controversial Luis Suarez left Liverpool they have been in the market for a new striker and have been linked with many different names but this morning it has been revealed that according to Sky Sources they are in talks with AC Milan about the equally controversial Mario Ballotelli.

There is no doubt that Liverpool need a new striker with Daniel Sturiddge, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini (who is rumoured to be leaving) the only strikers at Anfield. But would Mario Ballotelli be the man to fill this gap?

Ballotelli does have talent there is no doubting that, he is quick, strong, not scared to shoot and seems to be able to find the net all of which make world class striker when on form. Everyone in England saw his talent in his last spell in England with Man City where he scored 30 goals in 80 appearances; he also helped them win the FA Cup and Premier League in his spell at City. The Italian also has a very good record at AC Milan where he is currently, he has scored 30 goals in 54 appearances and had a better goals per minute rate than both Sturridge and Suarez last season.

His problem is his attitude and problems on and off the field. ‘Super Mario’ has had too many incidents and this seems to put him in the public eye quite often he seems to come back with a new incident every time people think he has grown up. The erratic striker seems to have problems settling into a team and getting on with teammates and management teams this is proven when he had fights at city with numerous team mates at Man City and had public bust ups with Jose Mourhino and Roberto Manchini.

Is it worth Liverpool signing the Italian or would they be better off signing another big name striker? Has he finally grown up and left his problems behind? On one hand he has all the attributes to be a great acquisition but on the other he seems to cause problems and disharmony in squads, could Brendan Rodgers be the man to finally sort out Ballotelli?
