It was thought that the door was firmly shut when it came to Liverpool signing Barcelona starlet Cristian Tello. But the Reds have been given hope after it was revealed the player's contract contains an £8 million buyout clause.

Liverpool have been chasing the 21-year-old for months, hoping to lure him top Anfield but were rebuffed by Barcelona when the Spanish giants offered Tello a new contract. The wingers new deal ties him to the Nou Camp until 2016, although Liverpool will be hoping to exploit the players buyout clause as they desperately try to bring in more attacking options to ease the burden on Kop star and Liverpool's top scorer Luis Suarez.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers believes Cristian Tello would be an ideal candidate to bring the club forward, given the players young age and huge amount of potential.

Rodgers wont be the only manager keeping an eye on the Spaniard, though, with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger reportedly keen on the pacey winger.
