Busquets keen on Masch arrival
Sergi Busquests has insisted he would welcome the addition of Javier Mascherano to the Barcelona squad.
The Liverpool midfielder has been linked with a move to Camp Nou as Barca boss Pep Guardiola looks to bring in new players during the transfer window.
Such an acquisition would increase competition in a department where there is already an embarrassment of riches, with Busquets' place in the side possibly under threat.
But the Spain international maintains that he would be happy to see Mascherano join Barca as it would strengthen the side.
Asked if he was worried by the possibility of Barca signing Mascherano, Busquets said in El Mundo Deportivo: "No, the more players that come the better, and they will be welcomed.
"He is a magnificent player and hopefully he can be added.
"The most important thing is that the signings will add to the squad."
Busquets believes he is a slightly different player to Mascherano and would not be in direct competition with the Argentine.
He explained: "He is also a defensive player, but perhaps he moves around a lot more conducting play and I maintain my position more and play the ball quicker."
