QPR boss Neil Warnock believes an on-song Jay Bothroyd is equally as good as Liverpool's £35million striker Andy Carroll.[LNB] QPR snapped Bothroyd up on a free transfer last month following his decision to run down his contract at Cardiff.[LNB]Warnock is convinced Bothroyd will prove to be a shrewd acquisition and believes he can add to the solitary England cap he picked up last season.[LNB]He said: "I look at strikers in the Premier League and people mention Andy Carroll to me and however many millions he cost. [LNB]"Andy Carroll is good in the air, but you cannot tell me he has more about him than Jay Bothroyd when he is on song.[LNB]"I think Jay has got everything to fight for his England place and it is really up to him."[LNB]QPR's only other signings this summer have been Danny Gabbidon and Kieron Dyer, also on free transfers, and Warnock does not expect to be handed a big transfer kitty any time soon.[LNB]He added: "If we don't spend any money, which it does not look like we are going to, staying up would be a massive achievement."
