Borussia Dortmund's director of sport Michael Zorc has told Liverpool they would be wasting their time making a bid for USA international Christian Pulisic.

The 18-year-old is contracted to the Westphalian club until 2019 and Zorc says there is more chance of them extending that deal than there is of them selling him.

The Reds have been linked with a move for the forward, who is already known to their manager Jurgen Klopp from their time together in Germany, but Zorc stressed he is not going anywhere.

"We have made it quite clear that we are not going to sell Christian and that we are planning with him," Zorc told Germany's Bild newspaper. "Liverpool can save the effort of making an offer."

The same applies for former Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin, even if injuries and lack of form have seen him lose his regular place lately.

"We have no intention of selling Nuri," Zorc added. "We are still planning with him."

Pulisic became the youngest US player to score in a World Cup qualifier earlier this year and he has become a regular for his national team.

While not featuring so regularly in the Dortmund starting XI, he has nevertheless scored two goals in 10 outings this season, playing in each of the club's Champions League matches.
