Liverpool are preparing a bid for Real Madrid’s striker Karim Benzema as they prepare for life after Luis Suarez.

Red’s boss Brendan Rodgers is weighing the possibility of adding the French International to his lineup after accepting Barcelona’s £63million bid for his star striker Luis Suarez.

Liverpool know that they will need to purchase a replacement for Suarez, and with Real Madrid chasing Falcao, the Spanish Giants could make Benzema available very soon.

Benzema has reportedly already turned down an extension to his contract in Madrid and with his deal running out, Real could be forced to sell if they seek to make some kind of profit.

With Liverpool pocketing around £63million for the Uruguayan star, they might just have enough funds to go after Benzema. With that kind of money at their disposal, they should be able to attract a world-class striker to replace the unique Suarez.

The deal for Suarez was agreed late Wednesday night after Real Madrid agreed to pay the buyout clause in the contract he signed with Liverpool last December.

Reports state that Suarez will undergo his medical for the Catalan team in Uruguay, which is where he has been staying after his country’s elimination from the World Cup.

Barca will reportedly fund the purchase of Suarez by selling Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal.
