Benitez wants Agger caution
09 Oct 2009 - 12:38:42
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has urged Denmark coach Morten Olsen to be sensible with returning defender Daniel Agger.
Agger is in contention to play in both of Denmark's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Hungary after making his return from a back injury for the reserves last week.
Benitez has been unable to call upon his 24-year-old defender so far this season and the Reds boss has made his concerns known to Olsen.
"It was a difficult decision to bring Agger back into the squad because he wasn't fit enough to start against Chelsea," he said, referring to last weekend's 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
"He is now with Denmark and I hope they will be careful with him. They have to be sensible.
"It's good for him because he needs to play, but he knows it will be tough for him to play both games in a row."
