Benitez enjoys perfect day

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez admitted Saturday's 3-0 victory over Newcastle United had been the 'perfect day' for his resurgent side.
Goals from Jermaine Pennant, Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard during a devastating eight-minute spell either side of half-time wrapped up a fourth consecutive Premier League victory for the Reds.
Benitez was also able to take off key duo Torres and Gerrard midway through the second period ahead of Tuesday's Champions League last 16 second leg trip to Italy to take on Internazionale.
"I must be happy with a performance like that," proclaimed the Spaniard after his side further consolidated fourth place in the table.
"Three goals, three points, nothing conceded and I was able to rest key players ahead of the Champions League.
"In every way it was just a perfect day for us. Our confidence is growing, as is the partnership with Gerrard and Torres.
"They are working well and the other players are making sure they have the time and the space to show their quality and pace.
"The first goal was a bit lucky but the second was a fantastic piece of play and that one was the big difference."
