Benayoun is in contention to face Manchester City in Sunday's crunch fourth place Premier League battle at Eastlands having recovered from a four-week absence after suffering a broken rib during their FA Cup defeat against Reading.
And Torres has stepped up his comeback bid from a troublesome knee problem which has also sidelined him since the Reds third round replay exit at Anfield, receiving the green light to start running again earlier this week.
No rush: Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez will wait on injured striker Torres to return
But boss Benitez has played down the duo's chances of an immediate return to action despite the club's chances of Champions League football next season in the balance.
'There is a difference between players being available and players beingready to play a game,' said Benitez, whose side face Unirea Urziceni on Thursday in the Europa League.
CARRAGHER RETURNS.Jamie Carragher is fit to face Unirea Urziceni in Thursday's EuropaLeague tie at Anfield.
Reds vice-captain Carragher was forced off in last Wednesday's 1-0 defeat atArsenal with a groin problem but has now recovered.
'Carra is training again and he will be available, which is very good news forus as he is an important player for us,' said Benitez.
'If they come back early and are ready to play, that is good news for us but we have got to make sure that we do notpush them back too soon.
'We need to make sure they will be okay for the last two months of the season. They are all getting that bit closer.
'But when you have a broken rib, like Yossi, or you have the meniscusproblem that has kept Fernando out, you cannot reduce the time (ittakes to get over the injury).'
Benitez, however, is looking forward to having the pair back in his selection thoughts, certain that they will boost Liverpool's hopes of regaining momentum in their quest to secure a Champions league qualifying spot for next season.
Welcome return: Benitez is relishing Yossi Benayoun's comeback after his lay-off
He added: 'It is impossible to get it down to three or four weeks but hopefullyit won't be too long now and we will be really pleased when they areback.
Star man: Benitez has piled praise upon Dirk Kuyt
'They have quality and, of course, they will help us. But, not only that, they will give us good competition for places.'
While Benitez refuses to restore either man to his starting line-up until he is satisfied their injuries troubles are over, he heaped praise of Dirk Kuyt who has thrived in the absence of torres and benayoun, aiding Liverpool's cause with some vital goals.
'Dirk is a player with fantastic commitment and he can also score goals; he is the type of player every manager would want,' he said.
'I have been really pleased with him and so have his team-mates. The fans also realise that, with his 50 goals and the way he can play in so many positions.
'He is a player we should all be proud of.'
