Rafa Benitez's side have had a poor start to the Premier League campaign, having already lost as many games as they did in the league last season, but Benayoun thinks it could have been even worse but for the Spanish stopper.

The Reds had to rely on a late Steven Gerrard strike to secure a win at Bolton last weekend, and Benayoun says Reina had a huge part to play.

"Last week he made a vital save to deny Matt Taylor at Bolton and he has done the same in the other matches," the Israel international told The Sun.

"He never lets us down. In my opinion he is the best goalkeeper in the Premier League.

"With him in the side you know you always have a great chance."
