Horror show: John Barnes couldn't get Tranmere winning[LNB]Tranmere put their physio in charge of the team affairs after it emerged that boss John Barnes was forced out by a fans' rebellion.[LNB] Barnes was sacked along with his assistant Jason McAteer, becoming League One's second managerial casualty of the day following confirmation from Wycombe that Peter Taylor had left by mutual consent.[LNB] Former Liverpool and England winger Barnes, whose only other job in club management turned into a debacle at Celtic almost a decade ago, had been at Prenton Park for 116 days after a brief spell in charge of Jamaica. [LNB]He lost eight of his 11 league games, including a 5-0 thrashing at Millwall last week, although it is believed that chairman Peter Johnson was prepared to stand by the 45-year-old.[LNB] Johnson met Barnes on Thursday and told him he would be carrying on. However, while the manager was at the Soccerex conference that evening, Johnson was being besieged by angry supporters at a fans' forum and had a change of heart. When Barnes rejected the chance to leave by mutual consent yesterday, he was sacked. [LNB]Johnson said: 'Unfortunately, results have not gone our way and we are at the wrong end of the table.' He understood things had to change.' [LNB]The highs and lows of John Barnes...
