Last night Barcelona reportedly offered Liverpool £17million for Danish centre-back Daniel Agger according to The Daily Mail.
Barcelona’s search for a Carlos Puyol replacement saw a bid rejected for Chelsea’s David Luiz only yesterday. Barcelona have wasted no time in turning their attention to Agger and according to highly respected correspondant Guillem Balague, the defender is keen on a move.
Early signs seem to show that Liverpool have already rejected the Catalan approach. However, should they accept the bid Liverpool will need to strengthen a defence that has already lost Jamie Carragher to retirement and Martin Skrtel has been the subject of constant transfer rumours.
