iverpool winger Ryan Babel has stated that he wants to make up for his international heartache by making the Holland World Cup squad.[LNB] Babel was selected in a preliminary squad of 30 by Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk, and looks a likely candidate to make the final 23-man party to head out to South Africa.[LNB]Babel has not been a regular feature of Reds' boss Rafa Benitez's plans this season, with the 23-year-old often used as an impact substitute and having several links with a move away from Anfield this summer.[LNB]Despite his patchy form and appearances in a Liverpool shirt, Babel has kept himself in the forefront of Van Marwijk's mind, and will look to make up for missing out on the European Championship in 2008, when he succumbed to injury.[LNB]"I am still not sure if I'm going to be in the squad but that is the aim for me to play in the World Cup finals for Holland," Babel told the club's official website.[LNB]"The World Cup is something special for every footballer. I was 18 when I was in the squad in 2006 and it was a great experience.[LNB]"I think we have a good squad. If everyone is fit then we have a great team that can give anyone a game."[LNB]With team-mate Dirk Kuyt also a part of the Holland squad, Babel admitted that he was looking forward to facing more of his fellow Liverpool players, with Denmark's Daniel Agger set to play against him in Group E.[LNB]"It's always good to play against your team-mates and I am sure we will be talking about it before the finals," he added.
