Athletico bid delays Coates deal
A late bid from Athletico Madrid has delayed Sebastian Coates's move to Liverpool. The Reds had agreed a £7m fee with Nacional for Coates when Athletico came in with a late £8m bid. This has delayed Coates's transfer as Nacional had to consider the new bid, but it won't halt the move as the defender won't even be speaking to the Spanish side as he only wants to sign for Liverpool. Nacional have agreed to respect Coates's wishes and the transfer should be completed shortly.
