Aspas and Moreno in Liverpool Sevilla swap deal

There has been talk amongst fans since pretty much the start of the last season that Iago Aspas wasn’t ever going to be the man to lead the line for the reds in the absence of the SAS but now it seems that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has agreed with the rest of us.

Talk of Aspas returning to Spain with Celta Vigo & Real Betis started appearing in January and now Sevilla are the latest club to be linked with the Spaniard.

According to Sport (hardcopy) Sevilla have contacted Iago Aspas' reps over a transfer (the dailystar backs this claim) but it seems Liverpool want to recoup the €9m they paid for him last summer while Sevilla only want to pay €6m.

For Sevilla, the main stumbling block to the operation is the high salary player is currently on (roughly half million Euros per season according to farodevigo.es)

Sportswitness reported this morning that the Reds were still in for Alberto Moreno (that’s news that will please fans considering Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand is another name that’s been thrown about).

So could Liverpool use Iago Aspas as a deal sweetener for Alberto Moreno?

From a fan and business point of view that makes alot of sense. Shipping out a 27-year-old striker who seems surplus to requirements and bringing in a young left back to challenge or even replace Jose Enrique to shore up the defence would easily please everyone.

Although Moreno's form dipped towards the end of the season and he missed out on the Spain squad, Sevilla wanting almost 20m for him still seems extravagant but if Sevilla were willing to accept Aspas and say 12-13m then it could turn out to be a smart bit of summer business.
