17 April 2011 17:22
FA CUP SEMI-FINAL & PREMIER LEAGUE SCORESBolton 0 Stoke 5 FT[LNB]Arsenal 1 Liverpool 1 FT[LNB]FULL TIME: Arsenal 1 Liverpool 1 [LNB]The first 90 minutes were pretty ordinary, but the game sprung to life in the 12 added minutes. Two penalties: first to Arsenal to revitalise their title hopes, then in time added onto the time added on, Liverpool score a spot kick to level it. [LNB]Dalglish and Wenger clashed on the touchline after the final whistle. Some very fruity language from the Scot can be heard. We'll hear more from the FA on that one, I'm sure. [LNB] A quiet word: Wenger expresses his dissatisfaction to the ref following Liverpool's late winner[LNB]90+12min: GOAL! Arsenal 1 Liverpool 1 (Dirk Kuyt)[LNB]I'm speechless. Kuyt goes right, beats the keeper easily. What now for Arsenal's title race? [LNB]90+11min: PENALTY! Eboue bundles Lucas over in the box, penalty to Liverpool. INCREDIBLE! Kuyt stands over it. [LNB]90+10min: Hang on, still hope for Liverpool! Shelvey skips through the challenges o the edge of the box and is tripped right on the line of the box. The ref awards a free-kick... Suarez stands over it.[LNB]90+8min: GOAL! Arsenal 1 Liverpool 0 (Robin van Persie) [LNB]Van Persie sends Reina the wrong way, Arsenal take all three points to keep their Premier League hopes alive. [LNB]90+6min: PENALTY! Jay Spearing trips Cesc Fabregas in the box. Looks like the Arsenal captain made the most of it. But its a penalty nonetheless. Robin van Persie stands over it...[LNB]90+4min: Still going on at the Emirates mind. Who's going to be the hero, deep into injury time. Or will the Gunners slump to their third goalless draw at home in a row? [LNB]FULL TIME: Bolton 0 Stoke 5[LNB]All over at Wembley, Stoke seal their place in the showpiece final with Manchester City next month. Bolton simply didn't turn up. [LNB] We're there! Stoke players celebrate after firing the Potters into the club's first ever FA Cup final[LNB]90min: Three minutes added on at Wembley. Eight extra minutes to come at the Emirates after Carragher's injury earlier in the half. [LNB]88min: Huge ovation for Matthew Etherington, the man who got this rout off and running 80 minutes ago, as he is replaced by Danny Pugh. [LNB]87min: Bah. Suarez wastes another guilt-edged chance to steal the points at the Emirates. He skips down the touchline and, with only Szczesny to beat, he thumps his shot a country mile over from an acute angle. [LNB]82min: Change for the Gunners, Abou Diaby is replaced by Alex Song. At Wembley, Kenwyne Jones is replaced by Ricardo Fuller. [LNB]81min: GOAL! Bolton 0 Stoke 5 (John Walters)[LNB]There you are. Its five, but could have been eight or nine. Jones skips into the box on the right, cuts back to Wilkinson who's deflection takes it to Walters at the back post to scoop home. The Bolton end is virtually empty and John Walters is on hat-trick. Incredible. And I'll repeat, not one of the five has come from a throw in.  [LNB] Five alive! Walters celebrates his second and Stoke's fifth goal at Wembley[LNB]80min: Last ten minutes at the Emirates, well, last ten regulation minutes plus a good seven or eight extra following Carragher's nasty head injury. [LNB]76min: Super chance for Luis Suarez to steal the three points. The sparky forward cuts inside from the right, finds space too easily in front of the Arsenal defence but his shot from the edge of the D was too close to Szczesny.[LNB]72min: Changes: Final roll of the dice for Owen Coyle: Rodrigo Moreno on for Fabrice Muamba. While at the Emirates, Andy Carroll's afternoon is over, he's switched for Jonjo Shelvey. [LNB]68min: GOAL! Bolton 0 Stoke 4 (John Walters)[LNB]That really is it now. And what a way to seal your place in the final. Stunning strike from 25 yards out curls around Jaaskelainen's outstretched arm, right into the corner. Shocking defending, mind, Walters picked up the ball in his own half and strode forward with barely challenge. [LNB]67min: I've gotta tell you, it should be six or seven,' Chris Waddle wins the award for stating the obvious in the ESPN commentary box. Bolton make a hash of stepping up, leaving Walters acres of space in the box, but his shot was blocked. The ball was then clipped over to Jones at the back post but he made a complete meal of it., the ball bobbles harmlessly wide. [LNB] Helping hand: Dalglish takes consoles Carragher as he is stretchered off [LNB]64min: Some nonsense goalkeeping from Jaaskelainen very nearly allows Jones to make it four. He fumbles a cross which trickles to the forward's feet, but his shot is blocked by Cahill. [LNB]62min: Still no action at the Emirates, Carragher is still being tended to on the stretcher as the medics prepare to bring him off. Sotirios Kyrgiakos replaces him. [LNB]59min: Lengthy break at the Emirates following a very nasty clash of heads between Carragher and Skrtel. Carragher is out cold, the medical staff sprint on, oxygen mask and neck brace come straight out. Looks very bad. [LNB]54min: Fear not Liverpool fans, Carroll's back on. Over at Wembley, Jones' has just zoomed up the right channel but ran out of ideas when he got into the box.  [LNB]53min: Worry for Liverpool: Andy Carroll has just limped off after landing awkwardly on his left ankle. He hobbles gingerly off the pitch for some treatment. [LNB] Heads we lose: Bolton have laboured, unsuccessfully, in the second half[LNB]52min: As if the Bolton fans needed any more encouragement, here's a stat to lift the heart early in the half: Only three teams in the history of the FA Cup have scored three goals ina semi-final match and lost, Liverpool, Fulham & Everton. (Thanks, Opta)[LNB]50min: What a chance for Suarez to break the deadlock! The Uruguayan ambles through the Arsenal midfield, the defence then backs off and he scoops the ball feet out of his but tugged his shot from the edge of the box just wide. Close. [LNB]49min: Two long throws come booming in from Rory Delap, neither results in goal. Whatever next? Who needs long throws when you are playing against a defence like Bolton's? [LNB]SECOND HALF: They're back up and running at the Emirates, no changes to either side. At Wembley they've restarted and, no surprise, Bolton have made two switches: Mark Davies replaces Martin Petrov and Matt Taylor is on for Ivan Klasnic. [LNB]HALF TIME: Nightmare afternoon for Bolton who have been totally outclassed by a rampant Stoke side who have all-but booked their place in next month's FA Cup final.  [LNB]Some Bolton fans were shown exiting the stadium after that third goal went in. Yes, it has been that bad. Three goals inside half an hour and not a long throw anywhere to be seen.  [LNB]Over at the Emirates, far less drama, few chances but the Gunners dominant. An open an entertaining affair which needs someone to grab a hold of it and take control. That's all for now. I'll have more in a bit. [LNB] No way through: Arsenal and Liverpool have seen out an entertaining, if goalless, first half[LNB]45min: One minute added on at Wembley, there's two extra minutes at the Emirates. [LNB]42min: Plenty of possession, no goal (same old) Arsenal. Liverpool win a free kick 35 yards out, delivered in towards Carroll but Szczesny punches clear. [LNB]38min: Another chance for Stoke, but this one goes begging. Pennant strolls to the byline and its only a timely intervention from knight stopped Jones form scoring. How does Coyle compose his half-time notes? [LNB]35min: Across north London, Arsenal are having the better of it at the Emirates. But Theo Walcott would no doubt rather forget an embarrassing shot from the edge of the box which went more sideways than forwards. [LNB]32min: Penny for them, Bolton fans? [LNB] Huth the man? Stoke delighted, Bolton dejected after the Potters' great start[LNB]30min: GOAL! Bolton 0 Stoke 3 (Kenwyne Jones) [LNB]Game over? Three chances, three goals for Stoke and that looks like its curtains for the Trotters. Pennant dispossesses Petrov on the right, screams towards goal and as Walters' run pulled defenders away, the threaded pass found Jones in acres to clip past a totally exposed Jaaskelainen. [LNB]30min: Jack Flanagan goes in the book for Liverpool after steaming through the back of Samir Nasri. [LNB]29min: Bolton look shell-shocked. After enjoying the much brighter start of the two sides, they now look completely out of it. And they aren't threatening Stoke's goal, either .  [LNB]25min: Disallowed goal! Arsenal fans are on their feet as Van Persie dinks a delightful finish with the outside of his boot past Reina. But the joy is curtailed as the assistant raises his flag. Its the right decision, the Dutchman hared off after Fabregas's lofted pass a touch too early. [LNB]21min: Enforced change for Liverpool: Fabio Aurelio comes limping off, he's replaced by youth team product Jack Robinson.[LNB] Stalemate: No goals in the early stages at Arsenal, although Van Persie has had a goal chalked off for offside[LNB]17min: GOAL! Bolton 0 Stoke 2 (Robert Huth) [LNB]Stoke in dreamland, but its a rather soft goal which doubles the Potters' lead. Long ball into the box is nodded towards the edge of the box and there's Huth to slap a rather shinny effort into the far corner past Jaaskelainen's dive. [LNB]16min: Off the bar! Arsenal have been starting to impose themselves in the past few minutes and came ever so close to breaking the deadlock. Koscielny's header from eight yards out rattled of the crossbar. [LNB]15min: My Delilah reverberates around the enormous arena as the Stoke fans lap up that goal. Must be said, it was well against the run of play. plenty of time left, mind. [LNB]12min: GOAL! Bolton 0 Stoke 1 (Matthew Etherington)[LNB]You know how Michael Carrick gave the ball away needlessly for Manchester United on the edge of the box yesterday? Well Paul Robinson has just done the same for Bolton, Etherington picks the ball up, takes one touch and thumps a vicious drive home from 20 yards out. Stunner. [LNB]9min: More chances! Liverpool and Bolton have both started brightly: Elmander's drive from the edge of the box is too close to trouble Sorensenn and Carroll has just made a hash of a decent volley inside the box. [LNB] Opener: Etherington slams home Stoke's first goal of the afternoon[LNB]7min: Chances, in both games! Suarez's free kick bounces awkwardly just in front of Szczesny who gets his body all behind it. At Wembley, Bolton win a corner, there's an inordinate amount of pushing and shoving, the ball falls to Cahill on the edge but he thumps over the bar. [LNB]5min: Chance for Arsenal! The Gunners win a free kick on the left, Nasri whips it in, Diaby rises above Carroll but his glancing header bounces just wide of Reina's upright. [LNB]3min: Scrappy start at Wembley, little goal action in these nascent stages. A smart run by Petrov was blocked off. Up t'other end, Stoke win a corner which is headed clear. [LNB]KICK OFF: Here we go! [LNB]3.59pm: Silence observed ahead of kick-off at the Emirates following the sad passing away of club director Danny Fiszman comes moments before the game gets underway. [LNB]3.55pm: Stoke end completely sold out, the Bolton end.. nowhere near it. huge swathes of empty red seats carve holes in the Wanderers' end. Still, we have a mammoth crowd in to witness these two club's first appearance at the new, polished and bang tidy Wembley Stadium. [LNB]3.54pm: Teams are beginning to line-up in the tunnels at Wembley and the Emirates. Nerves jingling and jangling no doubt, loads at stake this afternoon, you know the deal, we'll have the action for you very soon. [LNB] Party time: Stoke fans raise the noise levels ahead of kick off[LNB]3.49pm: The noise at Wembley is absolutely immense. fans singing, a PA system groaning under the strain of something firing out around 493 bpm. Rave-up time. [LNB]The key today will be who can cope best with the surroundings and the glare 180,000 eyes baring down on their every move. Not an easy task, but the good will out.[LNB]3.42pm: There's only a touch of it, but here's the team news from Wembley: Ivan Klasnic has been given the nod to fill Daniel Sturridge's boots for Bolton's FA Cup semi-final against Stoke. [LNB]Klasnic replaces the cup-tied Sturridge in one of two changes for Wanderers, with left-back Paul Robinson also recalled. Stoke make only one change, with Thomas Sorensen starting in goal having played in every round of the cup so far.[LNB]Bolton v Stoke - teams Bolton: Jaaskelainen, Steinsson, Knight, Cahill, Robinson, Elmander, Muamba, Lee, Petrov, Klasnic, Kevin Davies.
