Another injury, another sending-off, an own goal and, ultimately, another reminder that Arsène Wenger desperately needs to recruit experience to compliment his youth policy. [LNB]The great irony was that, while both teams had 11 men, Arsenal competed and even provided occasional reasons for optimism. But, in the critical moments, a lack of even the most basic streetwise qualities was once again evident. Emmanuel Frimpong joins Gervinho and [LNB]Alex Song in being suspended for the ominous trip to Old Trafford next week after being sent-off in what proved to be the pivotal moment of the match. Arsenal are also facing an anxious wait to discover the severity of a first-half injury to Laurent Koscielny. [LNB]For Liverpool, it was a performance of discipline and quality, with Luis Suarez applying the finishing touch in injury time after the deadlock was broken in the 78th minute by a freak Aaron Ramsey own-goal. [LNB]The first shock had been on the team-sheet. Samir Nasri, who came so close to joining Manchester City this week, was named in an Arsenal midfield that had been horribly depleted by a combination of injury, suspension and departure.
