Are Liverpool Preparing for Life after Luis Suarez?

One thing you can say about Brandon Rodgers, he is not afraid to go after what he wants. While rumors and speculation fly across Europe of who is going where and who is staying home, Liverpool has sign two top players in the last two days.

Liverpool went against past policy of “youth only” and brought in Kolo Toure on a free transfer from Manchester City. Toure, who is 32, was little used and still has lots to give. He still has great pace, can read the game very well and his experience should not only bring strength to the back line, but leadership to the locker room and training ground.

In the second move in as many days, Rodgers also signed Spanish striker Iago Aspas on a £7.7 million transfer fee from soon to be relegated Celta Vigo. Aspas also brings pace and versatility to the club. He is a quality finisher and can play either as a striker or out wide. Aspas will be a great addition to a club that looks to be possibly losing Luis Suarez over the summer.

Suarez recently said he would entertain talks with Real Madrid stating that it would be “difficult to say no” if Madrid came calling. Suarez also stated: "There are a lot of rumours in the transfer period, but you never know until firm offers are made."

He followed up with: "I'm happy at Liverpool thanks to the fans. I have committed an error, I am human, but they've talked about me in ways they shouldn't have. “

“My family have suffered and things have gone beyond the limits. I am tired of it. My daughter and my wife have suffered. I'm not prepared to continue suffering at the hands of the English journalists.”

Liverpool’s reputation has suffered much at the hands of Luis Suarez but they have also benefitted greatly from his incredible talent on the pitch. It is only understood that Madrid have only asked about Suarez so it is too soon to know if he is on his way out. If an offer does come, don’t be surprised if Liverpool grab the money quickly and bid a fast farewell.
