Are Liverpool lining up Barca's Pedro to replace Sterling this summer?

News of Pedro being linked to a Premier League club is nothing new after Barca signed Suarez the speculation went into overdrive as to the future of the 27-year-old.

The situation certainly unsettled the player with Spanish paper El Mundo Deportivo claiming that he and Enrique had held clear the air talks back in December which led to Arsenal receiving the news that he was no longer seeking a move away.

Reports now state that the player has now decided to consider his role as the fourth man in an all-star Barca front three in the summer with Inter Milan and Bayern Munich also showing an interest in his decision.

With Sterling having a £50m valuation placed on him and should that figure not deter potential suitors then Liverpool could walk away with an alternative player plus extra to spend elsewhere with Pedro likely to cost considerably less.

Whilst Bayern would likely be a preferable move for Pedro should Liverpool not gain a Champions League spot he may well find himself as a spare part in Pep’s plans rather than Luis Enrique. Inter on the other hand are unlikely to be able to match Liverpool in spending power.

Reds boss, Rodgers has already scouted the player and admitted at the weekend after their heavy defeat to Arsenal that not getting a Champions League spot could create problems attracting the best players but in Pedro’s case he may prefer to play and help Liverpool finish top-four should they not succeed this season.

Barcelona of course do have a transfer ban that is in place until January 2016 so may be cautious about allowing players to move on.
