Daniel Agger 300[LNB]DANIEL AGGER today vowed to channel the anger from his weekend frustrations into a performance that will make Roy Hodgson sit up and take notice.[LNB]The Denmark international was a surprise absentee from Sunday's starting line-up at Birmingham City, as Hodgson brought new signing Paul Konchesky in to play left-back and kept faith with his central pairing of Jamie Carragher and Martin Skrtel. [LNB]Having spent the season operating out wide, Agger will get the opportunity to return to his favoured position in the middle this evening when Liverpool kick-off their Europa League campaign with an Anfield date against Steaua Bucharest.[LNB]With places up for grabs for Sunday's trip to Old Trafford, this is not a chance Agger intends to spurn and while he admits Hodgson's decision to put him on the bench at St Andrews was not well received, he is ready to give the manager a selection dilemma.[LNB] 'Obviously I wasn't happy because I want to play every game,' said Agger, who will partner either Sotirios Kyrgiakos or Jamie Carragher tonight. 'It's not my decision but I have to accept it.[LNB]'I can be as angry as I want but it will never be my decision. Everybody says the same thing (in these situations) that you have to work hard and improve.[LNB]'What I need to do is make sure I use the games that I do get at centre-back to show the boss that I want to play there and that I am good enough to play there.[LNB]'There is no point sulking. You just have to go and prove yourself. I think it is fair enough to be disappointed. It's also fair enough to be angry.[LNB]'You just don't show it. You can show it to yourself when you are at home. You can hit and kick things if you want. That's where you keep it.
