Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has suggested he would be interested in a reported transfer to Italian side Juventus.
The Spain midfielder is currently away on international duty at Euro 2008 but has responded to speculation linking him with a move to Serie A.
The 26-year-old has previously been linked with Real Madrid after losing his starting place at times during the last campaign.
Alonso joined the Reds in 2004 from Spanish side Real Sociedad and has made over 110 appearances during his time on Merseyside.
"I know the Bianconeri (Juventus) follow me," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I know there has already been contact with Liverpool and my agent too.
"I can say that I am really proud to be linked with a strong and historical side like Juventus."
Referring to the match-fixing scandal which saw Juve relegated to Serie B for one season, he added: "I know what happened at Juve.
"For this reason I have big respect for (Alessandro) Del Piero, (Gianluigi) Buffon, (Pavel) Nedved and (David) Trezeguet - big champions who had the courage to play in Serie B.
"This is something I like a lot. After four years in La Liga and four years in England, playing in Italy would be like completing my career."
