The 25-year-old Italy international, who was signed for £20 million from Roma over the summer as a replacement for Xabi Alonso, has yet to play for his new club after surgery on a long-term ankle problem. However, following an intensive rehabilitation program, Aqualini could earn himself a place on the bench against Sunderland on Saturday. Aquilani said: "It's not been easy for me. I moved to a new club in a different country and have been unable to play or train properly. "It is not a good feeling when you are not involved with the team. "But it is my ambition to score at the Kop end. I've thought about it a lot during my rehab here. "Anfield is a great stadium with a superb atmosphere. I can't wait to play in front of that crowd."
