Yeo injury fears realised

Lincoln City have confirmed that Simon Yeo has suffered a partial tear of his medial knee ligament and could face up to six weeks on the sidelines.

The news, which effectively rules the player out for the remainder of the campaign, will come as a major blow to boss Keith Alexander given his record of five goals in 11 outings since returning to Sincil Bank after a spell in New Zealand.

The incident occurred during Saturday's 2-1 derby defeat at Boston when Yeo was on the end of a tackle from behind by Gary Silk and landed on the ball before hitting the ground which left him in agony.

Having being stretchered off, Yeo underwent a scan on Tuesday afternoon and the Imps have now confirmed their fears have been realised.

Physio Keith Oakes told the club's official website: "Simon will definitely be out of action for four to six weeks."
