Please Keep The Faith Stevie T

The Imps are staying up - Lincolnshire bloody mindedness will dictate that. Steve Tilson’s comments to BBC Lincolnshire post Gillingham garrotting, suggested a frustrated acceptance of our lot.  One can hardly blame him, struggling with a budget spent just as Chris Sutton found himself last season and Jacko two years before as loans kept us up.   "He'll miss two games but other people will get an opportunity. We have to move on. We'll deal with it this week and look at maybe playing another way."    Let us hope these are not the same frustrations that led to Sutton’s shock resignation one evening and completely out of the blue according to the chairman. Indeed all of the board were very much in his corner up until recently.  But then inconsistent messages have led to frustrating and confused times at the Sincil Bank Mushroom farm.   How can someone have overspent the budget by October, when a season runs until May? Not very prudent that, almost as bad as Cup run money  suddenly being a lot less than we figured because a game against Barnsley, on the first Tuesday of the season, was less than expected. So no new years spending for Chris Sutton as it had all apparently been used or accounted for. That was popular with 3,000 plus Imps who had travelled to Bolton.  And they say we fans are fickle.    Come on Stevie T – you can do this and things at our football club can change. We the diehards believe that.  Everything, injuries, suspension and lack of cash; is against you and Paul Brush. But this is your time to shine. You brought us back from the dead earlier in the season and you can complete the job with another win against Cheltenham whatever happens against Crewe and Bury. Take it from a cockney excile and long suffering working people and supporters who have learned you have to choose your battles in order to survive.   And when the job is done it will be another fantastic achievement to put on your CV, whether you return South or  stay  and lead us up. Believe me there are thousands of Imps that share your frustrations and sense of realism. It is a trait up here but so is the passion if we have a leader to inspire us, Ask Colin Murphy or Graham Taylor they showed the potential of Lincoln our City our club. Taylor pioneered the true meaning of Community club - the enticer galvanised Lincoln.   Have faith Stevie T for some time soon those with the money will restore our clubs pride and the Imps will return in our thousands, recession or not. The situation on and off the pitch will demand it. As for our immediate problems? Fear not The Imps are staying up - Lincolnshire bloody mindedness will dictate that.
