Lincoln City striker Jamie Forrester is hoping to earn a new contract at Sincil Bank and extend his time with the Red Imps.
The 33-year-old has been with City since March 2006, scoring 29 goals in 81 appearances, but is out of contract next summer and is anxiously waiting to see if a new deal is forthcoming.
Forrester told the Lincolnshire Echo: "My situation is the same as everybody else. I'm going to be out of contract in June, but like all of the lads, I am really happy here.
"I'm desperate to win a new deal here, but if we are relegated then I know there will not be a new deal on the table."
Bradford-born Forrester started his career with Leeds United and has also enjoyed spells with Grimsby Town, Scunthorpe United, Northampton Town, Hull City and Bristol Rovers.
He has also had loan stints with Southend United and Walsall.
