Lincoln City boss Peter Jackson was unhappy with the performance but not the result after securing a 2-1 win at Macclesfield Town on Tuesday night.
Dany N'Guessan and Jamie Forrester were on the mark for the resurgent Imps, who moved further away from the drop zone with the three-point haul.
"It was a poor game, one of the poorest performances of the season," claimed Jackson.
"We played better against Morecambe but lost 4-0 and in this game we've won 2-1.
"But it's a massive boost for us because we've jumped three places.
"When I came here we were rock bottom and now we're 18th. It was a poor game but a fantastic result."
