Lincoln City have decided against offering a contract to trialist defender Ashley Holmes.
The teenage centre-half was recently released by West Bromwich Albion and has featured in two reserve team games for the Red Imps.
However, stand-in boss Iffy Onuora told the Lincolnshire Echo: "We're looking at a few different players and want to bring in better than what we've got.
"We've got the likes of Danny Hone and Lee Beevers in that position and on the evidence of the games he has played, he's doesn't look to be any better than what we've got.
"We'll be looking at a few more players over the next few weeks, but it's sometimes difficult with players contracted to clubs."
