Imps snare O'Connor on loan

Lincoln City have swooped to sign Crewe Alexandra midfielder Michael O'Connor on a month's loan.

The 21-year-old midfielder has made almost 30 appearances for the League One strugglers this season, but was recently made available for loan by new Alex boss Gudjon Thordarson.

He joins fellow Crewe team-mate Antony Elding on loan at Sincil Bank.

"With the departure of Lee Frecklington it meant we were a bit short in numbers in midfield, so I'm pleased that we've brought Michael to the club," manager Peter Jackson told the club's official website.

"He's been captain of Crewe this season, he's played a lot of games and has international experience under his belt so his arrival is something of a coup for us.

"A lot of clubs in higher divisions were interested in him so I'm delighted that he's joined us and credit must go to Anthony Elding, who played a major part in us being able to bring Michael to Sincil Bank."
