Lincoln City's director of football John Deehan is hoping to keep goalscoring hero Spencer Weir-Daley at the club beyond the end of his three-month loan stint.
The 21-year-old has netted four time in seven outings for City since joining from Nottingham Forest, with his double at Walsall securing a crucial 2-1 victory.
Deehan told the Lincolnshire Echo: "At the moment he is on a 93-day loan and if Colin Calderwood wanted to recall him back at the end of that time, he could.
"I'm not sure what we can and can't do, but there will be a contract for him in the summer.
"He's shown me he is a good player, but I'm sure there will be plenty of other managers wanting to speak to him.
"I will do all I can to keep Spencer here because he is a real asset, but he has got to decide what is best for his future."
