Imps defender waits on op decision
The 22-year-old has been playing despite suffering from what was thought to be a deep-rooted sports hernia, although the problem has since been diagnosed as a result of how his bones have grown in his hip. But Green must now see a top surgeon to determine whether or not he requires an operation and Imps' physio Michael Wait told the Lincolnshire Echo: "It is too early to say whether Paul needs an operation until he has seen a surgeon who is one of the top in his field when it comes to sports injuries. "He'll take a further look and once we receive a more detailed and definite picture of what we are dealing with then we'll know what options are available to us. "Paul's problem is certainly unique to him and there is absolutely nothing he has done to aggravate it or make the condition worse. "He was born with it but the problem has only just become apparent now, because at the age of 22 he has just finished growing and his bones have just settled down."
